My name is Stephanie, and I might have a problem with going to the movies. There! I said it. Now that it’s out in the open, we can talk about it freely.
I LOVE going to the movies! More often than not, I go by myself. This way, I can go at the drop of a hat and see any film I like without compromising or justifying my choice in say: an animated movie for children, or a movie that is certified absolutely 0% awful on Rotten Tomatoes.
I like watching with friends and loved ones too, I just find they don’t want to go see a movie as often as I do. So, I sometimes end up seeing things twice in the theater if I can’t wait to see it. Once by myself in a timely fashion, and again when a friend can finally get their act, I mean, schedule together!
I pay no attention to critics’ reviews. I see the movies that I find interesting, funny, cheesy, and even bad. I like to be entertained. I enjoy two hours in the suspension of disbelief. Yes, Ghostbusters could be real because ghosts could exist in NYC and Kate McKinnon is hIlarious. Yes, Megan Fox does seem friendly enough to hang out with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and I think I’d like to join their crew if I ever happen upon them.
Don’t get me wrong, I like serious movies too! I read lots of books (the book is always better than the movie version) and I enjoy Oscar-nominated films with the rest of them. But they are usually released in clumps at certain times of the year. Summer releases seem rare, if I’m recalling that correctly.
Here, I was thinking friends and folks might like to hear my thoughts (in brief) on the movies I see an other related topics. Maybe I can save you a trip or inspire you to see a movie you hadn’t heard about.
“I’m gonna put it out there; if you like it, you can take it. If you don’t, send it right back.”
Happy movie watching!
